Revisión en profundidad del AmazFit T-Rex 3: ¿Cuál es la trampa?

This is something that should be a no-brainer in 2025, after years of smartwatch development. It’s like the easiest part of the smartwatch equation.

On the flip side, the buttons work well. They’re easy to press, and have good tactile feedback. The top button is the main button for starting/stopping activities, as well as accessing the menu. The middle left button is the back button, and the bottom two buttons are customizable. The middle right button can be configured for quick access to a specific sport mode or workout, while the bottom right button can be configured for quick access to a specific function like the heart rate sensor or music controls.

Overall, the usability is solid. The watch is comfortable to wear, even for extended periods of time. The touchscreen is responsive and easy to use, though the gesture recognition could use some improvement. The button layout is intuitive and the buttons themselves are easy to press. In terms of basic non-sports features, the AmazFit T-Rex 3 performs well.

Next up, let’s dive into the sports features of the watch, including activity tracking, GPS accuracy, and more.

Overall, the AmazFit T-Rex 3 has a lot of potential with its robust feature set and durable build. However, the little quirks and issues add up to create a frustrating user experience. From the delayed data updates on the widgets to the unreliable sleep tracking and unchanging readiness score, it feels like the watch is so close to being great, but just falls short.

It’s clear that AmazFit has some work to do to iron out these kinks and improve the overall user experience. For now, the T-Rex 3 may be better suited for those who prioritize durability and a wide range of features over a seamless and reliable performance. But for those looking for a more polished and consistent smartwatch experience, it may be worth exploring other options on the market.

Overall, the AmazFit T-Rex 3 offers a wide range of sports profiles and customization options for each activity. The device has impressive battery life, lasting about a week even with frequent GPS training sessions. The Heart Rate Variability (HRV) tracking is comparable to other devices, although the intervals may vary slightly. The voice assistant feature, Zepp Flow, is hit or miss when it comes to understanding and responding to queries. The charging time is long, but the overall charging and battery life performance is commendable. Despite some quirks in the app and platform, the AmazFit T-Rex 3 provides a comprehensive sports tracking experience with the ability to connect to various Bluetooth sensors for a more detailed workout analysis.

Once the map is downloaded, you’ll see it on your watch, and you can zoom in/out and pan around as you’d expect. The maps are fairly basic in nature, but they get the job done for basic navigation.

Now, onto the routing capability. With the map downloaded, you can then create routes on the watch itself. To do this, you’ll go to the Route Planning option on the watch, and then choose either a Start/End point, or a Round Trip (which is basically ‘take me back to where I started’). Once you’ve chosen your points, it’ll create a route for you, and then give you turn-by-turn directions as you run/ride. This works surprisingly well.

Though, there are some quirks. For example, the turn-by-turn directions are relatively short range. Meaning, you don’t get a ton of notice before a turn (like, 10-20 meters), and sometimes it can be really quick. Most other watches give you a bit more notice. Still, it’s better than nothing.

Additionally, the route planning on the watch itself can be a bit finicky. You need to be very precise with your finger when selecting points on the map, and it’s sometimes a bit fiddly. But, it does work.

Finally, while I didn’t do any specific mountain biking or trail running with it, the trackback feature worked well for me on a few hikes/road runs where I wandered off-course a bit. It got me back on track without issue.

So for the basics of mapping and navigation, the AmazFit T-Rex 3 does a pretty good job. It’s not as polished as some of the higher-end watches out there, but for the price point, it’s more than acceptable.

And that really sums up the AmazFit T-Rex 3: It’s a watch that’s a solid all-rounder. It doesn’t have all the bells and whistles of some of the higher-end watches out there, but it does the basics well and at a fraction of the cost. If you’re looking for a budget-friendly multisport watch that can handle a variety of activities, the T-Rex 3 is definitely worth considering.

Heart rate accuracy during this run was spot on, matching closely with a chest strap HR monitor I wore at the same time. GPS accuracy was also excellent, with the watch tracking my route accurately and providing detailed data on elevation changes. The watch performed well during intervals, quickly adjusting to changes in pace and providing accurate feedback.

Overall, I’ve been impressed with the GPS and heart rate accuracy of the T-Rex 3 during my workouts. It consistently provides reliable data that I can trust to help me improve my performance. While there are some issues with route importing and map quality, the core functionality of the watch is solid and reliable.

If AmazFit can improve the route importing process and enhance the quality of their maps, the T-Rex 3 could be a serious contender in the fitness watch market. For now, it’s a solid option for those looking for accurate GPS and heart rate tracking during their workouts.

Additionally, the lack of third-party app support is a significant drawback for many users who rely on specific apps for their training and tracking needs. The limited customization options and lack of advanced training features also make it challenging for serious athletes to fully utilize the watch.

Overall, the AmazFit T-Rex 3 has the potential to be a strong competitor in the endurance sports watch market, especially given its affordable price point and solid hardware. However, the software limitations and lack of advanced features hold it back from being a top choice for serious athletes and fitness enthusiasts. If AmazFit can continue to improve its software and add more advanced features in future iterations, it may become a more viable option for a wider range of users.
